Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led American pioneers and explorers to new frontiers. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years. In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them, we created our signature Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
Our Toasted Series is a testament to the power of serendipity. When we began to explore toasted finishes, we weren’t expecting each barrel to be so different — so we decided to embrace this variety of chars and toasts that make every bottle in our Toasted Series truly one-of-a-kind.
After full maturation in charred new American oak barrels, we finished 100% straight rye whiskey in a new, freshly toasted barrel. While it can be hard to predict the flavor profile of each bottle in our Toasted Series, the deep notes of vanilla imbued by the toasting process add another dimension to our signature flavor profile. Whether you’re into a Heavy Toast or Lighter Char, our Toasted Series truly offers something for everyone.
A wheated bourbon with a full-bodied flavor and a balanced palate. Old Weller Antique is bottled at 107 proof, offering a complex taste and bold finish. It’s certainly a recognizable member of the Weller label, with its own unique characteristics to compliment the high proof.
Ezra Brooks Cask Strength Single Barrel is Kentucky-distilled using the highest quality ingredients, aged the old-fashioned way, and then charcoal filtered and bottled at Cask Strength. The result is a bourbon featuring robust flavor with incredible nuance and a beautifully smooth, mellow finish.
These eight barrels were selected by Ezra Brooks and OHLQ exclusively for Ohio and are not available outside of our state.
This high proof, Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was named for Henry McKenna, the Irish immigrant who adapted his family's whiskey recipe to work with the grains he found in Kentucky. Henry McKenna is one of the longest aged Bottled-in-Bond whiskeys available today, resting in the barrel through 40 Kentucky seasons. Critics agree that this is perfectly balanced Bourbon.
Grapes were hand-picked and brought directly to the winery in 1/2-ton totes in perfect condition. They were then put onto a belted incline, and partially destemmed into two-ton, open-top, stainless steel fermenters with a fair amount of whole cluster included. The must was cold-soaked for five days. Fermentation was complete in 10 days, then the wine was pressed back into two-ton tanks, settled overnight and racked into French oak barrels. The wine aged in French oak for 16 months, racked into neutral French oak after 10 months. It was then bottled unfiltered and unfined and bottle-aged for 12 months before release.
Our 2021 Chardonnay was hand-picked into small totes, and then whole-cluster pressed. It was partly fermented in French Oak barrels to reveal the complexity of the fruit through the slow breathing process that happens in wood. The rest was fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep the vibrancy and fruitiness. Véronique then blended these two portions to create a wine of a more delicate nature - Arthur. To Véronique, it’s as if one brought together elements of a pure Chablis and
an elegant Meursault.
Chianti Classico Riserva is laced with sweet dark cherry, rose petal, licorice, orange peel and cinnamon. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, it offers quite a bit of intensity in a translucent style that is quite appealing. The substantial finish suggests it will enjoy a decade or more of positive development in the cellar.
Grapes for this Malbec are grown in the Andes Mountains of Argentina, then chilled and transported by ocean voyage to Caymus, where we use our winemaking techniques to create a style that is dense, dark and supple. Falling outside standard labeling rules, Red Schooner does not include a vintage date but is known by the voyage from which it traveled (i.e. Voyage 11 is the 2021 vintage). Strikingly smooth, with scents and flavors of dark fruit and
fine, textural tannins.
Gorgeous aromas of blackcurrant and licorice, with some traces of mint in the background. The compact structure asserts itself through the full-bodied feel and the wild berry flavors are livened by the focus and tension provided by fine acidity. Peppery tannins season and lift the flavors, bringing the fruit to life and Dow’s hallmark drier finish polishes and
balances the wine.
