“I’m happy to have an opportunity to support a community event and showcase the arts,” shares Ryan. “I am also hoping to prove to my wife (and myself) that I can dance.... Maybe!”
Kate and her husband, Ryan, have a young daughter named Karigan, who goes by the nickname “Bird”. The family also has 2 puppies, Keela and Sheila. Kate serves as the Raymond James Financial Advisor for Park National Bank in Piqua.
Kate graduated from Hoover High School, and continued onto Walsh University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Language and Letters. Her love for running and working out is apparent in her daily YMCA visits, where she also acts as a sub-instructor for their fitness classes. In her free time, Kate enjoys volunteering for local events, as she is able to support the community and meet new people.
“I chose to participate [in Dancing with the Piqua Stars] to help raise money that will be used to inspire others through art, and to assist programs that expose the community to different art forms,” exclaims Kate. “Also, because I cannot dance – so why not jump on the chance to embarrass myself (and my husband) a little bit?!”
Nathan is married to his high school sweetheart, Lindsey, and resides with their 3 children. He graduated from Piqua High School in 1999 and he currently serves as a Police Officer for the city of Fairborn.
One of Nathan’s passions lies in sports, as he enjoys attending all of his children’s sporting events, coaching baseball and, of course, watching Buckeye football. On Sunday mornings, Nathan is found at the Valley Church leading worship.
“I couldn’t tell my wife no anymore,” Nathan explains his consideration for this year’s Dancing with the Piqua Stars. “When I heard the excitement in Lindsey’s voice when she told me she was nominated, I knew it was time. Lindsey has supported all of my adventures so I want to support her. Additionally, the Piqua Arts Council has done so much for the local youth so I figured I would participate in Dancing with the Piqua Stars as a way to say thank you.”
Lindsey has been married to her husband, Nathan, for 15 years. Together, they have 3 children – Aiden, Evan and Halle (pronounced Hal-ee). With 16 years of instruction under her belt, she currently teaches second-grade at Washington Primary School in Piqua. The 2000 graduate of Piqua High School earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.

Though the beach is her happy place, she enjoys spending time at Norris Lake every summer with her family. Additionally, Lindsey enjoys the company of family and friends, whether they’re out eating, shopping, playing cards, or cheering for Ohio State football.
“I have wanted to participate in Dancing with the Piqua Stars for many years,” Lindsey expresses. "The Piqua Arts Council directly benefits me and my second-grade students as they have sponsored several field trips to the Victoria Theatre, which gives the students in Piqua the opportunity to attend a live theatre production. It is such an awesome experience for the students and the looks on their faces are just priceless. Being given the opportunity to give back to my community is such a wonderful feeling.”
